Lupe Performs Michael Jackson Tribute

June 30, 2009

Here is a pretty cool video of Lupe FIasco performing a Michael Jackson tribute during his last concert at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. Check out the video below; I absolutely love it.

I must say that Lupe is one of the best performers I have ever had the privilege to see and his concert was amazing. I encourage you to check him out if he is ever near your area because he truly is not only an amazing artist, but also a phenomenal performer.

Straight No Chaser

June 30, 2009

G.O.O.D. Music’s Mr. Hudson was an intricate part of Kanye’s last album, 808’s & Heartbreak. His first single featuring Kanye definitely shows you the chemistry they had in the studio together. Now that he has his album around the corner, Mr. Hudson can showcase his talent on a more personal level. Straight No Chaser will only have two guests on the album, Kanye West and Kid Cudi, keeping his appearance list in the family. Below you will be able to preview Hudson’s album, so check it out.

Some Drake News

June 30, 2009

Below you will be able to watch a pretty interesting interview with Drake, the latest signee to Young Money Records. For awhile, I was blinded by the Drake hype and decided to not jump on the bandwagon, but in all actuality, the hype has lived up to its expectations. Check out this interview with Drake that happened right after the BET Awards last night.

And yes, I said, “the latest signee to Young Money Records.”

Well, the wait is over: After weeks of speculation, Drake has chosen to go with the home team and sign with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records, according to a source close to the situation. The deal breaks down as a joint venture between Young Money and Cash Money, with Universal Republic distributing. Drake’s management was adamant that he should be viewed as an independent artist, although Universal will distribute the project.

Speaking of Drake, check out some shots from his upcoming Best I Ever Had video after the break.

Air Jordan VI “Infrared”

June 30, 2009

To kick off the new year in 2010, Nike Air Jordan’s will release one of its most sought after models of all time, the Air Jordan VI in their upcoming “Infrared” rendition. The weapon of choice is a ode to Jordan and the Bulls capturing MJ’s first of many championship titles. The shoe’s only previous retro was in 2000. With the January, 2010 release date comes a suggested retail price of $150, so stay tuned for more information.

Air Jordan VI “Infrared” 2010 Retro

The “Infrared” model of the Air Jordan VI is one of the dopest renditions that have ever come out. With the news of the “Infrared” being re-released in the beginning of the new year, sneaker heads, including myself, will be more than ecstatic, seeing that this model is one of the more prominent AJ’s in history, not to mention a personal favorite. What do you think?

You know the deal, check out more photos of the Air Jordan VI “Infrared” after the break.

The Nike Air Jordan 1 “Oestrich”

June 30, 2009

The classic Nike Air Jordan 1 comes in a new premium version, featuring an all black upper made of nylon and oestrich leather. The nylon is very thick and almost looks like ballistic nylon and is well complemented with the oestrich leather, while keeping an overall subtle appearance. The sneaker will be officially released on July 7th, but is now available for order at RMK, so be sure to check ’em out.

Nike Air Jordan 1 “Oestrich”

When I first ran across these new AJ 1’s, I was absolutely impressed. The “Oestrich” Air Jordan 1’s are insane to me because they pair oestrich leather with nylon, Air Jordan 1 aesthetics, and an all black design. These are some of the dopest AJ 1’s that I have seen in a very long time. Thoughts?

Check out more photos of the “Oestrich” Air Jordan 1’s after the break.

Black & Purple Colorways To The Rubber Player

June 30, 2009

I actually thought that the Nixon Rubber Player push was over with the release of the yellow colorway, but it sure looks like I was wrong. Following up on their blue launch in March, Nixon releases two new colorways in their popular Rubber Player model, a spin-off of their classic Player timepiece. Various features within the Rubber Player include: 3-hand Japanese quartz movement, custom molded silicone case and band and a diamond. Retailing for $170, both colorways are now available at 80’s Purple.

Nixon Rubber Player | Purple And Black Colorway

As I have mentioned before, Nixon’s Rubber Player watch is one of my favorite accessories out on the market. The Rubber Player’s eloquent aesthetics, design, and simplicity have me in awe, and since I actually prefer the purple and black watches over the previous releases of blue, red, green, and yellow, I am even more impressed than usual. I must note that I am happy that Nixon has not stopped releasing new colorways of their Rubber Player. What do you think?

Be sure to check out more detailed photos of the two new colorways of the Nixon Rubber Player after the break.

Another Look At Gundam

June 30, 2009

A while ago, I previewed the recently constructed replica of the Gundam RX-78-2 by Bandai. If you recall, the replica was constructed in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series. The iconic Gundam RX-78-2 replica is nearly 60 feet tall, making it the first ever in-scale mobile suit to accurately portray the proportions of the legendary mecha. Below, you can check out some footage of what it looks like.

Boss Of All Bosses Round Two

June 30, 2009

In a previous post, I introduced a new track, La Bomba, by Cam’ron that will be featured on Cam’s upcoming Gangsta Grillz: Boss Of All Bosses by DJ Drama. Well today, I have three new tracks that will also be featured on his upcoming mixtape. You the Baddest, featuring Vado, We Here Now, featuring Vado, and Professional, featuring Byrd Lady and Vado, are three sick tracks, so check them out below.

Nike’s “Buzz Lightyear” Backpack

June 29, 2009

Sometimes colorful combinations can get out of control, but this Eugene Backpack from Nike Skateboarding is a good balance of colors and features. Inspired by one of Toy Story’s main characters, Buzz Lightyear, the colors of the bag is taken from the characters body. On the functional side, this bag is packed with pockets and compartments for cell phones, iPods, bottles, pens, skateboard and much more. There are probably more zips on this bag than any other on the market and there are ample padding for maximum comfort. The shoulder straps are detachable, which means they can be washed to keep hygiene levels high, and there are plenty of reflective fabrics on the backpack for safety.

Eugene “Buzz Lightyear” Backpack

As I mentioned above, some times a bag with this many different colors can get out of hand, but this “Buzz Lightyear” pack is an exception. Honestly, this is one of the dopest bags that I have featured on this blog, and one of the illest bags that I have seen in a very long time. I am a fan of the colors used, the design, the pocket placements, and the utilitarian aspect. Kudos Nike for this bag, you have scored again.

Go ahead and check out more photos of the “Buzz Lightyear” bag from Nike after the break.

Kanye West “Street Lights” Vid

June 29, 2009

Directed by Javier Longobardo, Kanye’s Street Lights video takes an animated approach and scores heavily, in my opinion. Though I am uncertain if this is the official video to the song, I am certain that it is done quite well, and it is featured on Ye’s blog, making it pretty official to me.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I am a fan, what do you think? Kudos Javier.
