Video: Ross Applauds Eminem on “Forever” Verse

September 3, 2009

Though Rick Ross applauds Eminem for his verse on Forever with Drake, Kanye and Lil Wayne, Ross still wants to battle Em. Check out the clip below

Vodpod videos no longer available.

When Rick Ross thinks about Eminem making a Mariah Carey dis record instead of responding to his jabs toward Slim Shady, the Miami Bawse just cracks up laughing. “You know what my thoughts are, man. We just laugh at it,” Ross told us recently in New Mexico.

“He’s smart,” Ross said about Eminem not addressing him and avoiding a rhyme battle. “That’s what I’m waiting for. That’ll be a gift — a great Christmas present for me. But y’all know what I think. I think everybody knows. It’s all ‘hood, man. Shout-out to Mariah Carey, she needs to reach out to me. We could eradicate some things.”

The vibe is not 100 percent antagonistic, however, when it comes to Ross’ thoughts on Marshall Mathers — he actually has some praise for Em’s latest verse.

“On a better note, I wanna shout out Eminem. I heard a record he did with Lil Wayne, Drake and Kanye West. Eminem, you’re smart. I understand … we all know what you doing now. You’re moving on to better things. Like I said, he might wanna do a record with me. We here. Triple Cs.”

Ross, the Carol City Cartel, Masspike Miles and the rest of his musical family are putting out their mixtape Maybach Music Part III: White Sand real soon. The title signifies that they started in the streets and are now indulging in the finer things in life. “We still on that hustle,” Ross said. “I’m hungry like a new artist. It’s a double disc of all new music as well as a DVD. It’s taking the street mixtapes to the next level.”

Triple Cs are filming the video for their first single, “Go,” with the Birdman featured in the production. The album Custom Cars and Cycles is due to drop this fall.

Just for the record, Eminem is top ever. Ross would get smashed to pieces, truthfully.

Video: Rakim at the Highline Ballroom

August 14, 2009

It seems as if the 18th letter, Rakim, made an appearance at the Highline Ballroom in New York the other day. During his performance, Rakim gives the crowd a brand new song, No Man Above, featuring Pudge, to expect off of his upcoming album. Check out Rakim, one of hip hop’s pioneers, shut down the Highline Ballroom below.

The R… the God Rakim may have kept us waiting more than a decade for another album, but perfection takes time, and if the god isn’t satisfied with his work, who’s to tell him otherwise? Last night, at the Highline in NYC, Ra gave us a taste of what he’s been so meticulously cooking up for his return. Earlier this summer we got to hear his first single Holy Are You, but on this Thursday night we were blessed with another track called No Man Above featuring Pudge. Watch the clip and enjoy.

Maybach Music Pt. 2

July 22, 2009

Kanye West, T-Pain, and Lil Wayne graced Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Pt. 2, creating, in my opinion, a classic rap song. Well, it seems as if Ross and others, namely Pusha T, Birdman, Fabolous, and T-Pain, decided that it would be fitting to remix the song and throw new verses on it. Personally, I like the original better, but Fab and Pusha do come with some great verses. Check it out below.

Amerie – Why R U Remix

July 22, 2009

It seems as if Amerie is officially back, especially with a remixed version of her popular Why R U. The remix, featuring Nas, Jadakiss, Cain and Rick Ross, is a very smooth track, and in my opinion, worth downloading. Be sure to check it out below.

Rockin’ That Thang

May 23, 2009

When I was first introduced to the line-up for this remix of The Dream’s Rockin’ That Thang, I was extremely excited and pleased. I think that the original version was mediocre, but with the release of the remix, I am strongly pleased. In my opinion, Juelz murdered his verse. Check out the video below. Also, if you just want the song, download it below.

All I Really Want Is…

May 8, 2009

Okay, regardless of what people say about Rick Ross, I think he is dope. His rhymes, flow, and style is just very fresh to me, and, in my opinion, he is a good rapper. So, if you like Ross and new R&B titan, The Dream, then check out their new song together called All I Really Want.

Rick Ross x Usher

April 27, 2009

Even though I am not an avid Rick Ross fan or pusher, I do get down with Ross. Disregarding major beef with 50 Cent, I have to agree with Kanye West and state that Rick Ross is the shit. I have had the opportunity to hear his most recent album and I was surprisingly amazed. Rick Ross can make good music. So, here is a brand new song by Rick Ross featuring Usher called Everything You Want. Again, I think that Rick Ross is underrated by far, so download this track and give him a chance. It took me a while to get into his music, but it has finally happened.
