Video: Ross Applauds Eminem on “Forever” Verse

September 3, 2009

Though Rick Ross applauds Eminem for his verse on Forever with Drake, Kanye and Lil Wayne, Ross still wants to battle Em. Check out the clip below

When Rick Ross thinks about Eminem making a Mariah Carey dis record instead of responding to his jabs toward Slim Shady, the Miami Bawse just cracks up laughing. “You know what my thoughts are, man. We just laugh at it,” Ross told us recently in New Mexico.

“He’s smart,” Ross said about Eminem not addressing him and avoiding a rhyme battle. “That’s what I’m waiting for. That’ll be a gift — a great Christmas present for me. But y’all know what I think. I think everybody knows. It’s all ‘hood, man. Shout-out to Mariah Carey, she needs to reach out to me. We could eradicate some things.”

The vibe is not 100 percent antagonistic, however, when it comes to Ross’ thoughts on Marshall Mathers — he actually has some praise for Em’s latest verse.

“On a better note, I wanna shout out Eminem. I heard a record he did with Lil Wayne, Drake and Kanye West. Eminem, you’re smart. I understand … we all know what you doing now. You’re moving on to better things. Like I said, he might wanna do a record with me. We here. Triple Cs.”

Ross, the Carol City Cartel, Masspike Miles and the rest of his musical family are putting out their mixtape Maybach Music Part III: White Sand real soon. The title signifies that they started in the streets and are now indulging in the finer things in life. “We still on that hustle,” Ross said. “I’m hungry like a new artist. It’s a double disc of all new music as well as a DVD. It’s taking the street mixtapes to the next level.”

Triple Cs are filming the video for their first single, “Go,” with the Birdman featured in the production. The album Custom Cars and Cycles is due to drop this fall.

Just for the record, Eminem is top ever. Ross would get smashed to pieces, truthfully.

Four Leaked Tracks from Jay-Z’s “Blueprint 3”

September 1, 2009

Yes, you read the title correctly. Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 is getting more and more leaked by the moment. Honestly, it does not sway my decision to go out and buy the album (and I hope it doesn’t sway yours either), but it does bring a bittersweet feeling from seeing all of the songs being leaked. I figured you’d get it one way or another, so here you go, but act fast because they will be gone sooner than later. Enjoy.

Jay-Z – “Thank You”

Jay-Z x Kanye West – “Hate”

Jay-Z x J. Cole – “A Star is Born”

Jay-Z x Young Jeezy – “As Real as it Gets”

Video: Consequence x Kanye West x John Legend – “Whatever You Want” (BTS)

August 30, 2009

Below is a behind the scenes look at what to expect from Consequence’s single, Whatever You Want, featuring Kanye West and John Legend. I love this song and am excited to see where the video leads, especially if Hype Williams is directing it. G.O.O.D. Music is alive.

Here’s some footage of Consequence shooting the video for his single Whatever You Want featuring Kanye and John Legend, in Miami. The Fountainbleu Hotel was the location for the shoot. The Fountainbleu is famous because the movie Scarface was shot there. The homie Hype Williams directed the video.

Drake x Kanye West x Lil Wayne x Eminem – “Forever” (Prod. by Boi 1da)

The other day was a momentous when Drake, Kanye, Wayne and Eminem hopped onto a Boi 1da track, so I figured I’d hook you all up with the CDQ version. Again, you see the names, you know the talent and you want to listen. Link below.

August 27, 2009

No need to explain this track. You see the names, you know the talent and you want to listen. Link below.

As Said by MTV:

“Forever” will appear as part of a collection of tracks inspired by the film (due in theaters October 2), with the soundtrack coming on September 29 on Interscope Records. Polow Da Don will executive produce the set, which will also include songs by T.I., Mary J. Blige, and Young Jeezy, according to Rich Paul, who works with James as a part of their marketing company LRMR.

Paul said that originally “Forever” was just going to be Drake and Kanye West.

“It was done, it was just Drake and Kanye, and then they went back and got two more prolific talents and it just made it even crazier, ” Paul told MTV News late Tuesday. “They blessed Drake crazy.”

The song came together when Gee Roberson, an executive at Atlantic Records who also manages West and helps to oversee the careers of Drake and Wayne, visited LeBron during the playoffs in May.

“He came over and played this — it was me, LeBron and Maverick [Carter, James’ manager],” said Paul, who will co-executive produce the project for James’ camp. “And he played the track, it was hot. It went right with the movie, it was like perfect for a moment that you want to be forever. And when he decided to put Wayne, Drake, Kanye and Eminem on it [together], it just makes it better. It’s one of those songs fans will really want to hear forever. It’s that type of feeling.”

“Man on the Moon: The End of Day” Production Credits

August 26, 2009

Aside from the much anticipated album artwork and scene listing, I, among others, have been speculating at who would do much of the production. Pulling from a range of nine different producers, CuDi sets up shop for his debut album release of Man on the Moon: The End of Day.

Kanye West with only two production features? Hm.

You can find the entire scene listing, along with the production credits after the break.

Video: Jay-Z x Kanye West x Rihanna – “Run This Town”

August 20, 2009

After three video previews of Hov’s Run This Town, the full version has finally came through via MTV Germany. Though the video has a website embedded into the player, the music video is everything I expected and more. I love seeing Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Rihanna work together.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

This is one of music’s strongest teams to date.

Update: I installed the OS video version for a better quality.

Video: Jamie Foxx x Drake x KanYe West x The-Dream “Digital Girl”

August 20, 2009

Though the beat is different for the video than the previously released version, the video version is very good. Though the visuals are not what I expected to see, I am still a big fan of the song/video. You know, quite honestly, I did not even foresee a video release for this, much less this late. Nonetheless, here is Jamie Foxx’s Digital Girl video, featuring Drake, KanYe West, and The-Dream.

Do you recall the speculated Blueprint 3 track list floating around on the internet? Well, it was not correct. However, I have the official track list below. Though the track list is is full of guest features, I am quite excited to see J. Cole and Kid Cudi make the cut, and of course, Kanye West. Will this be the best Blueprint? We shall see.

Check out the album artwork and the official track list after the break.
