Nike Blazer Mid Textile

August 25, 2009

The prolific Nike Blazer profile dating back to the 1970s is given a modern design treatment. Building on the original silhouette with a grey textile upper, tonal piping and contrasting white swoosh and laces, Nike presents a sneaker defined by clean lines and simple styling. The Nike Blazer Mid Textile is now available at the Nike Store.

I do not know what it is about these sneakers, but they have caught my eye and I cannot stop staring. I love the pure simplicity of the sneaker, along with the usual Nike aesthetics and design. I appreciate the sneaker taking on the original silhouette, all the while adding modern design techniques. Would I wear ’em? Yes.

Quoddy Maliseet Oxford/Blucher

August 14, 2009

Two styles from famed Maine-based footwear manufacturer, Quoddy, have hit The Shop. Sharing similar characteristics and aesthetics, the releases come in the form of the Maliseet Oxford and Blucher. The darker, more refined Maliseet Oxford features a four-hole design with a clean upper while the Blucher on the other hand includes a light brown shade with collar trim.

Personally, this is one of the best releases that I have seen Quoddy come out with in a long while. With footwear this fresh, Quoddy is sure to have their competition on guard. Though I am a fan of the darker Oxford more over the light Blucher, I like both releases. Thoughts?

Check out more shots and colorways of the Oxford/Blucher after the break.

Air Jordan 60+ Black/Red

August 12, 2009

Today, the Jordan Brand release their latest hybrid sneaker concoction to the US market, dubbed the 60+. The kicks, inspired by Michael Jordan’s 60+ point performances, features a mash-up of five celebrated classics into a new 3/4 cut basketball sneaker. The sneakers are available in the classic Chicago Bulls black/red/white color combo, and can now be purchased directly through NikeStore.com.

Brand Jordan has done it again, by introducing this timeless piece to the market. Personally, I love the fusion of the sneakers, but more so, the classic Bulls colorway. I can spot three different pairs of Jordans in this rendition, what about you?

Check out more shots of the J’s after the break.

Common Project Fall/Winter High Top Zip Sneaker

July 29, 2009

For the upcoming Fall/Winter season, Common Projects continues to develop and enlarge their offering by introducing a new side zipper high top sneaker. The sneaker comes in black and dark red colorways and features a side zipper, button strap and vintage aesthetics on the sole. The sneaker is now available in both colorways at Colette, so check them out.

Common Projects has ceased to impress me with their creative, yet simplistic design tactics. The zip sneaker by Common Projects utilizes a classic high top silhouette, but adds a creative kick by using a zipper and button strap. As I have mentioned before, I love the simplistic approach that CP takes when it comes to their designs, so of course I would love these high tops. Thoughts?

Check out more photos of Common Project’s Fall/Winter High Top Zip Sneaker after the break.

Cultureshoq x Asics

July 28, 2009

Cultureshoq presents an in-depth look into their upcoming collaboration with Asics and Ronnie Fieg. The shoe’s base, the Gel-Lyte III needs no introduction as it has become the catalyst for Asics’ re-emergence in the lifestyle market within the last few years, thanks to a plethora of collaborations. The upper is comprised of predominate hits of white and grey with subtle purple tones. The shoes will release on July 31st at both DavidZ and their flagship store in New York.

This is the second pair of Asics’ signature shoe, the Gel-Lyte III, that I have featured on here this week. I am quite impressed by the aesthetics and design that Asics is presenting through their plethora of collaborations. Though I am more of a fan of the pair presented yesterday, I do love this more simple color scheme. Thoughts?

Mighty Crown x Nike Sportswear Dynasty High Premium

July 27, 2009

Having worked together in the past, Japanese music group Mighty Crown are once again collaborating with Nike Sportswear on a lesser known model, the Dynasty High. This particular release sees some pretty out of the ordinary touches, including a studded ankle strap and double flag logo on the tongue. The re-visitation of the 1981 original Dynasty High comes in conjunction with the 15th anniversary of the Mighty Crown Yokohama Reggae Festival.

Nike and Mighty Crown have done it again, in terms of creating a very ill pair os Nike high tops. I personally love the Dynasty High, but this rendition is one of my all time favorites. I love the colorway of the sneaker and the out of the box design, in terms of the strap and extra high tongue. Thoughts?

Mita Sneakers x Asics

July 27, 2009

Continuing their endless sneaker collaborations, Mita Sneakers team up with Asics on a special version of their classic Gel Lyte Speed model. The sneakers, limited to 500 pairs, feature inspiration from tropical fruits, that bring to mind the comfortable, lightweight and cushioned run along a tropical beach island. The uppers use gradation to further fortify the Summer vibe while the incorporated nylon materials boast cotton-woven fabrics often used in Hawaiian Summer clothing. Dope? Yes.

This is by far my personal favorite of the Mita Sneakers and Asics collaboration. In my opinion, the sneakers are fun, in terms of colors used, materials used and design. Overall, these sneakers uphold typical Asics aesthetics. Do you like?

Nike Dunk High Premium Nylon

July 17, 2009

What started off with the implementation of nylon following the vandal-inspired pack, has developed into a continuous theme for Nike. The latest Dunk Hi to get the nylon treatment comes in the form of a grey silhouette, accented with red and blue details, much like the aforementioned release. The high tops look to drop soon at select Nike retail accounts, so be on guard.

Original? Yes. Dope? Yes. Quite honestly, I absolutely love these high tops coming from Nike. After hearing about these for the past few weeks, they finally drop, reaching the amount of hype that they receieved. I am a fan of the grey silhouette, but more so of the red and blue accesnts. Thoughts?

Air Jordan XI – Space Jam Rendition

July 17, 2009

The Air Jordan XI “Space Jam” is arguably one of the most desired Air Jordan Retro’s in the history of the Jordan Brand. Originally released after Michael Jordan wore them in the movie, Space Jam, the shoes sold out the first time they were released and then a number of years later when they were retroed. Now the shoes are on the verge of their second retro and there isn’t much different about these than the first two times they were released. The AJ’s are scheduled to be released at the end of November, running at a retail price of $175.

Yet another Air Jordan that all sneaker heads will rage over is being released this year. Quite honestly, I have always been a fan of the Space Jam rendition of the Air Jordan XI, but seeing these in a mint form make me even more hyped. I would love to rock these, but the price is ridiculous. Thoughts?

Red Wing Shoes Preview Spring 2010 Collection

July 3, 2009

Classic American footwear company, Red Wing, previews a variety of new boot and shoes models for their upcoming Spring 2010 collection. A certain favorite amongst the men’s contemporary scene, the Red Wing brand sees the upcoming season shine, incorporating suede and leather boat shoe interpretations along their standard variety of premium footwear. This line up is only a preview, but has the looks of becoming a sure classic.

Red Wing Shoes Present Spring 2010 Preview

Red Wing astonishes me once again with their upcoming Spring 2010 collection. In my opinion, this collection by Red Wing is one of the sickest line ups, in terms of boat shoe interpretations, that I have seen in a long while. Personally, I do not have favorite of the collection because each have something unique to bring to the table, however, if I had to pick a pair, I would pick the boots shown above. Red Wing has done it again. Thoughts?

Be sure to check out more photos of this collection after the break.
