August 20, 2009

It seems as if ErnEdits caught up with Chicago’s own, Lupe Fiasco, when he was at the Kennedy Center and asked him about the importance of lyrics. Check out how Lu answered below.

Lupe Performs Michael Jackson Tribute

June 30, 2009

Here is a pretty cool video of Lupe FIasco performing a Michael Jackson tribute during his last concert at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. Check out the video below; I absolutely love it.

I must say that Lupe is one of the best performers I have ever had the privilege to see and his concert was amazing. I encourage you to check him out if he is ever near your area because he truly is not only an amazing artist, but also a phenomenal performer.

We Are Lasers: The Manifesto

June 28, 2009

In a past post, I introduced you to the written document of the “Lasers Manifesto.” Well today, I am previewing the official video to the “Lasers Manifesto.” This is pretty powerful if you ask me, so check it out below.

So the question must be asked, are you a loser or a laser? I especially like the fourth and fifth statements to the manifesto.

“We want substance in the place of popularity.”

And

“We will not compromise who we are to be accepted by the crowd.”

Be sure to check out the official website at Wearenotlosers.com.

Lupe Fiasco’s Shining Down Single Cover

June 26, 2009

According to Amazon, the Lupe Fiasco’s single, Shining Down, will drop on July 7th. The final version isn’t that different from the leak some of you may have heard already. Matthew Santos’ chorus is a bit altered now and some of the instrumentation behind Lupe’s words are less extravagant; it’s a bit toned down from the original version but it’s still a very solid track, so be on the lookout for it in a few weeks.

Just as a side note, I am going to Lupe’s concert tonight at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. Just a few weeks ago I was there for Kanye West, and tonight I will be there for Lupe. Wow. So, for the rest of the day, that is what I will be doing. Oww.

Lupe Fiasco Concert

June 20, 2009

About three or so weeks ago, I announced that Lupe Fiasco would be having a free concert in Chicago, Illinois at Grant Park in conjunction with the Nike 6.0 BMX Open June 26th. Well, things have changed since then. The event has been moved from Grant Park to the Chicago Theatre, in an effort to avoid overlapping with the Taste of Chicago music stage. However, more important than the change of venues, tickets will now cost $20. Tickets are now available starting today at the Chicago Theatre box office or via Ticketmaster.

Also, the doors will open at 8:30 p.m. and the show will begin with Lady Sovereign performing at 9:30 p.m. Lastly, Lupe will go on at 10:15p.m. Regardless if it is not free anymore, I will still be there. Lupe is one of my favorite artists, and $20 for a ticket is not bad at all.

I absolutely love Lupe Fiasco, Matthew Santos, and this song. Lasers will be an amazing album hands down. Well, be on the lookout for more new joints by Lu, but as for now, download Shining Down below.
