Below, you can find a brand new J. Cole joint. I know you all have been craving something new since The Warm Up, so here you go.
While I’m workin on the album I get urges to go off on certain beats I love. This is similar to the process of how The Warm Up originally started. I’m already sitting on some gems as we speak. I figured yall been rockin that warm up for a couple months, let’s let some of them out.
Below are a few videos of one of my favorite MC’s, Asher Roth. In the videos below, Asher gives an exclusive interview with HipHopChronicle, along with a ten minute freestyle. Again, this guy truly amazes me with his insane lyricism and talent, along with his modesty.
Sumit from HipHopChronicle spoke to Asher Roth today in London:
In this interview we speak on the “Sour Patch Kids” track and whether he’s working with DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Nottz for his new album. He smiles saying “maybe”. Asher talks politics and why explains why George Bush “is the man”. Asher tells me what artists would teach at a Hip Hop College. Finally the MC tells my why its important to study and know your history. After the interview, me and Asher spoke on Hip Hop albums. We spoke on Guru, Masta Ace, 9 Lives, Preemo and a whole lot more.
Also, you can check out Asher freestyle after the break.
The 10 minute freestyle was dope to see. He even has a message for DJ Premier in the freestyle. Asher’s man also steps up to the plate (only for a brief moment). After the freestyle, Asher said “yo, I only do freestyles like that for people like Semtex and Flex, that was a special one”. That humbled me and as I told Asher, I really appreciated him going in.
Today, I am going to unearth two new/unreleased tracks from Cleveland’s finest, KiD CuDi. Though both are refreshing to hear, Peon has more of a freestyle feel, while That Girl is classic Cudders. Links below.
During an interview with Soul Culture, Asher Roth and a friend go in for an exclusive freestyle. As I have said before, Asher Roth is one of the most talented MC’s to freestyle. It is truly an art, and Asher Roth has his grips on it. Check out the video below.
Asher Roth kicks a freestyle exclusively for SoulCulture during our interview in London, 24th August 2009.
The other day, I provided you all with a link to the audio of Mickey Factz’s interview with DJ Semtex, and today, I am giving you all the visuals to a freestyle that Mickey Factz did. I won’t say much about the freestyle, except, he is truly one of a kind and only a few artists can freestyle without written material.
Semtex says:
Mickey Factz passed through my show on 1xtra and blacked out, hard. He kinda kills it, goes in, smacks it, etc. He sharpens his blade across Hip-Hop, Dubstep, and Funky House. Not many MC’s can do this. Seriously, aside from Asher Roth and a few others, very few people can actually freestyle live on air. Pre-written stuff is cool, etc. but you would be surprised at how many people ‘don’t feel well’, or ‘have a cold’, or ‘are tired’ when asked if they want to grab the mic.
Someone managed to get some exclusive footage of Kanye West’s performance at the G-Shock event the other night. Below, you can check out Kanye perform is verse from Jay’s Run This Town, so be sure to check it out.
Also, you can check out Kanye perform Get ‘Em High, See You in My Nightmares and Robocop, along with an exclusive freestyle, after the break.
On the A-List Radio show, J. Cole and XV join DJ Enuff to spit a few freestyles for the listeners. I listened to this all the way through and was nothing shy of impressed. Quite honestly, these two guys can spit, regardless if some of the freestyles on here were written prior to. Nonetheless, be sure to check out these two cats rap in the video below.
Now honestly, name a few hip hop artists that can do it like this. These guys are the future of hip hop.
In between performing at The Great hangover Tour, Asher Roth took some time out to rhyme over Hov’s D.O.A. beat. Just vibing out and having fun again, Asher speaks about Spencer Pratt, his sister, Bernie Madoff, haters and more. I love this song, so be sure to check it out below.
Below you can check out a freestyle done by Jay-Z the other night at a concert in Chicago. Honestly, this freestyle is actually dope, but I will let you be the judge of that. Check it out below.
Catch that?
“I ain’t talkin’ about gossip/ I ain’t talkin’ about Game/ I ain’t talkin’ about Jimmy/ I ain’t talkin’ about Dame.” Jim Jones and The Game seem to think that Jay-Z is starting a beef. I do not see it that way, but whatever.
Oh, and if you want to, follow along with the lyrics after the break.
