Drake’s “The Best I Ever Had” Video

July 3, 2009

And after several months of everyone bumping Drake’s Best I Ever Had, the biggest song in the country finally gets a video. Drake’s video, directed by Kanye West is nothing less than amazing. And it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, seeing that this past week, the Toronto native’s smash single rocketed up 24 spots to #3 on Billboard’s top 100 right as he solidified his much gossiped-about record deal.

Also, be sure to check out an interview that Complex did Drake right after the break. Looks as if Drake stopped by the Complex office to discuss working with Kanye, the truth about his new deal, his handicapped experience at the 2009 BET Awards and much more. So, check it out.

For awhile, I was blinded by the Drake hype and decided to not jump on the bandwagon, but in all actuality, the hype has lived up to its expectations. Check out this interview with Drake that happened right after the BET Awards last night.

Well, the wait is over: After weeks of speculation, Drake has chosen to go with the home team and sign with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records, according to a source close to the situation. The deal breaks down as a joint venture between Young Money and Cash Money, with Universal Republic distributing. Drake’s management was adamant that he should be viewed as an independent artist, although Universal will distribute the project.

Speaking of Drake, check out some shots from his upcoming Best I Ever Had video after the break.

So as young men who aren’t ready to commit, we have what may appear like, a roster of women that we talk to. I happen to be coaching my roster of women, which happens to be the high school basketball team. And no matter how bad they play, to me they’re the best. So it’s a metaphor for that… Kanye directed it. Fabolous showed up, Trey Songz, Common…
